If a DEFA Link unit is without a subscription for more than 6 months, the unit will no longer be usable, because the subscription with the telephone company will have expired. The telephone company recycles unused mobile numbers.
By searching for the units serial number, you can check the last possible date for starting a subscription, or check if the unit has expired.
